Richard Webster appointed Interim Director of Music at St. Paul's Choir School and Parish in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Richard Webster has been appointed Interim Director of Music at St. Paul's Choir School and Parish in Cambridge, Massachusetts, effective July 1, 2023 for one year. Joining him as Associate Director of Music will be Brandon Straub.

St. Paul's Choir School is a Catholic choir school located at Harvard Square in Cambridge. Founded in 1963 by Theodore Marier, the school for boys in third through eighth grades is the only Roman Catholic boys' choir school in the United States, and one of the few church-affiliated choir schools in America. The Choir School educates and trains the choristers who sing soprano in the St. Paul's Choir of boys and men. Their primary role is to sing for the parish's liturgical services, including daily Mass, Tuesdays through Fridays, during the school term. They also have performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Pops, and other ensembles. Their April 2023 tour of Italy included singing for Pope Francis in Rome.

Brandon Straub, St. Paul's new Associate Director of Music, has been Director of Choral Music & Chair of Music at St. Alban's School and National Cathedral School in Washington, DC since 2016. He has also served as Associate Conductor and Pianist for the Choral Arts Society of Washington since 2012 and is Founding Director of its Youth Choir. From 2011-2016 Mr. Straub was Director of Choral Music at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia.
